July 6, 2020 - Fresh, with orchard fruits and minerality. Great pairing with homemade pesto.

January 25, 2020 - 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Sue's): Double blind. An odd bouquet that I can only describe as a mix of sour milk and gingersnap cookies, neither of which are a good thing in my book. The palate shows orchard fruit with something a little earthy/funky, though not in a bad way. Overall, a very average wine at best. Rich nailed this as an Italian white. Another in a long line of "lesser known" Italian white varieties that just aren't worth the effort IMO.

    November 19, 2018 - 13,5% alcohol.

Pale lime green color. Very ripe and somewhat sweet nose with aromas of juicy pear, some musky, almost Muscat-like floral tones of jasmine and rose petals, a little bit of pear marmalade and a hint of white peach. The wine is broad, moderately full-bodied and slightly Gewurztraminer-ish with its flavors of ripe pear, some lychee, light rosewater tones, a little bit of peach, a mineral hint of wet stones and a touch of chalky mineral bitterness. The acidity feels moderately high - not high enough to make the wine crisp, but high enough to keep it in balance. The finish is long, stony and slightly warm with flavors of tart green apples, some greengage, a little bit of sweet white peach, light floral Muscat notes, a hint of pear drop and a sappy touch of herbal spice.

A broad, rich and surprisingly floral Fiano that reminded me quite a bit of Muscat - which was very surprising, since Fiano isn't really that known for its musky qualities. Perhaps a bit ponderous and on a slightly "too" ripe side, but nothing too overdone. Quite a pleasant little drop; perhaps a slightly crowdpleasar at that, but all in all the wine works fine.
