March 24, 2024 - Big whiff blind -- thinking SW France. There's a hint of volatility, but not troublesome. Lifted high tones nose with dried cherry notes. "Sweet" red fruited palate with fine but rather mild tannins. Mid weight and depth. Easy drink.

December 6, 2023 - Decanted and poured, this wine has very little sentiment at this stage. The bouquet is expressive and combination of maturing and youthful dark fruits. This are underlying herbal notes in the bouquet that add complexity and depth. The wine is a dark, rusted kind of ruby color. the medium full bodied palate shows a lengthy finish and excellent overall balance. This bottle seems typical of "Ca' del Merlo" with the preference here (in general) for the Quintarelli "Valpolicella". This wine should continue to drink well over the next 5 to 10 years (at least?).

November 29, 2023 - 12 heures de carafe.
Assez puisssant au début, le vin s'est affiné au fil de la dégustation.
Tanins très fins, des arômes de fruits rouges et noirs mûrs équilibrés par une belle acidité. Aucune lourdeur dans ce vin.
Vin jeune mais qui peut tout à fait se boire aujourd'hui et tiendra des années sans aucun souci.
