May 16, 2020 - Wow, really gorgeous, felt like it was walking a tightrope of vibrancy and freshness.

The nose in particular was probably the best part- simply explosively powerful but also laser-beam focused, a sniper rifle loaded with fresh and tart wild red mulberries, stemmy/herbal tones of fresh mint, lavender, and toasted sesame seeds, wet gravel, and a hint of vanilla oak, wrapped up in a bow and fired directly into the nostrils.

Palate didn't quite have the electric energy of the nose, but still plenty- lots of the wild berry fruit and stemmy qualities coming through in a balanced way, with medium+ acidity and very gentle, minimal tannins. Palate had subtle umami tones in general which worked really well.

Felt very much like a Pinot from Whitcraft in Santa Barbara- similarly styled with alcohol around 12.5% and priced the same too. This felt slightly more complex than some of those, as the fruit and savory tones were really on an equally expressive plane here. A tremendous step up from the entry-level Two Paddocks I think, twice as expressive and balanced, although I haven't tried that cuveé for this vintage. Amazing wine.

November 23, 2019 - Pinot Noirs (2-OR, 2-CA, 1-Fixin, & 1-Central Otago) (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): "12.5% ABV, 5.8 g/L T.A., & 3.5 pH;" For addt'l info, be SURE to access the "Wine Article" by LindsayM for this specific vintage!

N: GORGEOUS, *very* COMPLETE, varietal aromas that I won't even attempt to parse, other than there was an addt'l note of water on wet cement that I personally enjoyed, but a > experienced taster found off-putting

P: LM body; very NICE, almost swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which fairly seamlessly evolves into a LONG, balanced finish with a TANGY/swtness (60:40) to the dusty tannins. NEEDS through '21, then drinking through '25 min? VERY nicely done! My EXC; 96 pts Suckling (Stock, 10/15/18). [This vendor's $55.95 is now an IMPRESSIVE $9 < than the lowest U.S. source I saw.]

    Note: 1st tasted 11/9/19

Nose med intensity red fruits strawberry red cherry plums , blue fruits boysenberry blueberry mulberry , florals rose petals and violet , spices lovely complexity and balance , quite feminine 29/30
Palate med bodied red fruit dominate , savoury , backed up by assertive acid and excellent long finish with fine tannins 41/44
Overall first 2017 for me , ghee impressive wine with such balance the the acidity will hood and develop this wine for many years . I like this style of Pinot 10/11

November 9, 2019 - Winebar [1 Rosé, 4 Whites, 9 Reds, & 5 *shared* bottles] from 11/8/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): "12.5% ABV, 5.8 g/L T.A., & 3.5 pH;" For addt'l info, be SURE to access the "Wine Article" by LindsayM for this specific vintage!

N: Something medicinal (wintergreen, though a > experienced taster thought spearmint), certainly "different", but also refreshingly attractive; A (poss) leafy component, with notes of minerals?

P: LM body; NICE, almost swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which stays within hailing distance of the init frt as it seamlessly evolves into a LONG, balanced finish with a TANGINESS & hints of impending swtness to the very, VERY fine tannins. NEEDS through '22 to unravel, then at least approaching its 10th? My EXC-/EXC, with potential for even more... eventually. Quite an eye-opener with its distinctive styling! 96 pts Suckling (Stock, 10/15/18). [This vendor's $55.95 is an IMPRESSIVE $11 < than the only other U.S. source I saw.]
