July 20, 2023 - a seriously lovely pinot noir. opens with a fairly strong nose of earth, cherry, and red spring berries. on the palate the wined showed similar to the nose. medium bodied, with a wonderful mouthfeel. perfectly oaked and rich but not over the top. a pleasure to drink. continued to develop in the glass. not sure what clones went into this wine but i liked the mix very much. tannins and acidity were modest which made this wine a pleasure to drink now as opposed to aging for many more years. a very well constructed wine.

April 19, 2022 - During a tasting dinner of the Pipette group. The nose here is extremely perfumey with raspberry, peony, sweet spices and crunchy cranberries, almost too assertiveif that can be a flaw. A lot of wow's on the table. On the palate the wine is fresh and elegant. Most people guessed Vosne. Very well made by Liger-Belair who is the winemaker here.

August 6, 2021 - At Ivan and Michelle’s. A very enjoyable Oregon Pinot. Clearly new world, so not one for the Burg-only camp, but this was really delicious. It had a really pretty nose, with fragrant drifts of freshly stalked flowers and peppery spice curled around a core of sweet red berries and cherries, and a little touch of green bramble and earth at the sides. Very attractive. The palate was drinking really well even at its young age, with sweet, sunny notes of red cherries, strawberries and summer berries, all seasoned with a dash of spice and a hint of bramble. Really delicious stuff, plump and fleshy in a really nice way, yet punctuated too with seamless acidity and fine tannins that led the wine into a velvety finish just edged with a bit of earth and mushrooms. Sleek, polished and hedonistically delicious, this was drinking wonderfully even now. Such a super yummy wine. A great pairing with beef Wellington too.

January 22, 2021 - Rose & Arrow 2017 vintage presentation (Iggy's Restaurant Singapore): One of the favorites tonight. Initially a bit more muted nose but then with time in the glass it opened up and wafted from the glass with the Liger-Belair signature nose that we know from Vosne. Cranberries but also dark fruit here. Good volume here on the palate. Aromatic finish. Very complete. Wow!

December 14, 2019 - Mild-to-medium reduction on the nose, but less than the overwhelming reduction of the 2016. The winemaker has said in the past that this reduction is just part of the terroir, but I'm skeptical as this has been present on several of the Rose and Arrow cuvees. If you can get past the reduction, you'll find dark fruits, green herbaceousness, ground pepper, cooking spices, and black tar flavors. Rich and textured. The astringent black tea and spice flavors build and build toward an incredible finish. This has a ton of potential, but that reduction ...
