Community Tasting Notes 5

September 27, 2020 - Cloudy light yellow in appearance. Austere in delivery with some light citrus and almond notes. Pretty straightforward but enjoyable. Probably best paired with food; thinking some oysters or even crab legs. Did not knock my socks off and was not measurable better than the ROAR appellation Chardonnay I had that preceded it.

June 11, 2020 - Lighter side of a Chardonnay. Grass and lemon. Not much of a creamy mouthful I expected. Good acidity I’m the entry and exit. Good Chardonnay but expected something different

June 8, 2020 - Agree with past tastings. Vanilla and stone fruit. Not much nose and not much oak but my least favorite roar chard.

May 14, 2020 - A bit disappointed with this one. My wife drank most of this as I was quaffing some excellent craft beer. I tasted it a couple times after she wondered if it could be corked. Pretty closed on the nose and much lighter in body and flavor than usual from this great vineyard site. In fact it almost dissipated on the back end- no finish. I wonder if it is flawed because this is not my usual experience with ROAR or this vineyard site. I have another I will try at some point in the future.

March 30, 2020 - Consumed over two days. Heavy in vanilla with a background of stone fruit, some oak but not over done. Decent acid making the wine well balanced. Vanilla was not as forward the second day but really the wine didn’t change much.
