June 19, 2023 - Château Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion Tasting and Dinner (Winefield's Auctioneers, Amsterdam, NL): Medium golden colour with amber reflections; attractive tertiary evolution on the nose, nuts and candied fruit, paired with tart lemon fruit and deep minerality; rich flavours on the palate, sustained by very typical firm 1996 acidity, ripe citrus fruit; gentle bitters on the finish, very good persistence. A successful marriage of energy and evolution.

January 25, 2019 - Pinot Noir and some Champagne (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Deep golden color. Clean, medium intense nose with lots of Sherry and autolytic flavors. Not my particular cup of tea though. On the palate bone dry. Some oak, sherry and oxidized notes. Lots of power and depth, very good length. This Champagne could go well with a steak! Drinking without food it is not my personal favorite, though I must admit it is a very good Champagne. 92-93
