September 24, 2019 - Aged for 7 years on the lees before disgorgement. 12,5% alcohol.

Pale, light lime-green color. Restrained nose with aromas of mealy red apples, some yeasty tones, a little bit of quince and a hint of citrus fruit. The wine is dry, neutral and quite straightforward on the palate with linear flavors of steely minerality, some developed waxy tones, a little bit of pithy lemony bitterness, a hint of quince and a touch of yeast. The dosage shows through a little, but fortunately the acidity keeps most of the richness at bay. The mousse feels silky smooth, creamy and enjoyably persistent. The finish is quite long and somewhat underwhelming with light flavors of ripe green apples, quince, some chalky minerality, a little bit of ripe white fruits and a hint of yeasty autolysis.

A light, fine-tuned and somewhat neutral - yet not austere - Crémant that has stayed for remarkably long on the lees, yet it doesn't taste like it at all. I wonder if the wine is just too young and would need more cellaring to exhibit more complexity? Or then the wine is just built to be like this and will remain somewhat underwhelming no matter what. It's a nice and refreshing effort, but nothing particularly noteworthy - and perhaps something of a disappointment after such long aging on the lees. However, at only 10€ the wine still delivers great value for the money.
