May 30, 2020 - Clean and crisp when properly chilled. No sweetness and very little acidity. Pinotage is an interesting grape without the skin contact.

October 2, 2019 - A trip to South Africa's Coastal Region with Reni, Rainer and Bert. Day 5, Paardeberg Mountains and Tulbagh. Oude Companies Post currently has 10ha under vine. We tasted their wines at the winery over dinner, with open minded, visionary young owner and winemaker Dirk, who took over operations from his father with the 2018 vintage.

Dirk was told that it is impossible to make a good white wine with red grapes and he wanted to proof a point. Harvested in the early morning and pressed with only 0.25 to 0.3 bar. Six months in barrel, on the lees. 13.5% ABV. Citrus, yellow fruit, red fruit, honeydew, some nutty leesiness, lemongrass and a mild ice bonbon note, with high, lively acidity, lovely mild bitterness, a slightly creamy mouthfeel and very good length. Lovely mild bitterness. Complex and very unique! 90+
