December 25, 2023 - Chinese dinner buffet and peking duck. hell yeah. enjoyed over 2 hours with no decant. really structured and brooding. enjoyed very much. can hold or drink for 5+ years if you want. In it's prime now IMHO.

December 9, 2023 - Light red in color. 13.5% ABV. Sensational nose of red fruits, citrus and earth. Light to medium body with strong acidity. Fresh, vibrant and loaded with tart, crunchy fruits. Cranberry, pomegranate, orange rind and minerals on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Delightful and easy to drink. Best over the next several years.

August 28, 2023 - Shut down at the moment. The palate is thin and the finish is tannic. Has a great frame so should round out, but will be best 2025-2030. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 89.

July 13, 2023 - I was fortunate enough to receive a very sound bottle; just a touch of VA, barely any brett funk, but enough to lend a spicy earthy undertone. The standard Lapierre juicy red/black fruit with a firmer structure than the Morgon -- an interesting option, but at the end of the day, the Morgon wins out for me. But maybe let's see what a bit of time brings?

June 28, 2022 - Popped and poured; no formal notes. I found this bottle of the 2018 Juliénas to be good…but not on the level of enjoyment that I get from Lapierre’s standard Morgon. It’s very pretty and floral…and a bit natty with some barnyard funk reminding you that these wines see the lightest of touches. A nice, somewhat rustic wine. Perhaps I’m being a bit harsh…but the Morgon is so compelling in comparison. Drink now.
