April 30, 2024 - Medium lemon colour; clean and shiny; excellent. nose: ripe apples, lemons, quince, pomelo - reach. slight mineral aromas (vit C); when opens some underripe peach and some mango aromas. very good. taste: high acidity - superbly integrated and balanced. Some limestone and ripe fruits (apples, apricot, peach) - this ripe fruits balance the acid. There is also some grapefruit bitterness. Fresh but with a good body and reach. Love it.

September 20, 2020 - I ve tried the standard version of the Ca dei Frati lugana several times & decided to go for the Brolettino. This remains a great wine, but I really couldn't see the assets compared to their ordinary bottle. The main difference was the intense peach notes that surprised me positively combined with some apple & grass hues. On the opposite side acidity was more intense while I missed stone elements of the standard version. If you are looking for an intensively fruity, smooth to drink white with some pronounced acidity at a great price, try it out.

July 24, 2020 - medium lemon, clear, shiny colour. nose: robust - peach, apricot, melon; there is some sweetness of ripe fruits plus refreshing cucumber and watermelon; its partially covered by oaky, caramel aromas. taste: a quite high acidity; medium (+) body; medium (+) Flavors intensity; stonefruits - peach, flat peach, apricot, mango; soft buttery notes; long finish full of ripe peach. There are some pinchy sensations on the palate plus minerality. Good structure. Is young but the balance will come together - Acid, fruit and oak. give it some 3-5 years.

May 3, 2020 - V pale straw. Aggressive, initially stern nose of creosote, fireplace embers, melting metal, and then, miraculously, an interweaving of lacy elderflower, honeysuckle, and peachskin ethereality with a lemonoil singularity providing gravity. Mouthwatering. As good as the nose is, the palate is nothing short of stunning: dense and broad, yet crisp; luscious white tree-pitfruits drench the palate, demanding attention; and yet, other than a wispy lychee note, this is as far from tropical as the Alps could imply… It is stern, steely, mineral, and boldly acidic; a Matterhorn — covered foot to crest with wildflowers. This is not a light wine but it doesn’t tire, either — quite the opposite: it has effortlessly persistent, and delicious, length. Honestly, a stunning wine. Preposterously good for the money. Wow!
As an aside, this is the kind of wine that shows how ridiculous a numerical rating system is in general application. This is a perfect wine in the sense that I cannot imagine it being a better version of what it is. Case closed...
