  May 21, 2022 - Slate and lime on the subdued nose. Pear and yellow apple with a bit of chalk and balanced, medium acidity. Great summertime wine.

  February 21, 2021 - Elements of Wine 2021 - My Class at GnG; 2/7/2021-12/31/2021 (Grapes & Grains, Temecula, CA): I quite enjoy most Carricantes. They seem to have a bit of textural weight to balance out the crisp acidity that goes with the citrus and stone fruits. Like all volcanic soiled wines, there is a bit of savory to go with the tangy minerality. Pointed out in several reviews, this would go well with salads, citrus-marinated shrimp, and white fish recipes. Also, I did pick up a bit of popcorn flavor on the front of the palate.

  March 28, 2020 - An ancient white wine grape variety from eastern Sicily, grows on the volcanic slopes of Mt Etna. Producer Cortese. Citric notes and minerality. A very light wine with delicate and subtle flavors, probably best drank with a salad or lightly seasoned white fish.

  March 22, 2020 - Very nice Sicilian white, with a subdued nose of slate, Key Lime, and a touch of smoke. Palate had more Key Lime, with apricot, peach, and hints of chalk and dry popcorn. Light in body, it is a great value, and well worth trying out.
