December 16, 2022 - Not a spring chicken anymore, but also not over the hill yet! Deep in color, tawny at the rim. Assertive aromas of wild fennel, creosote, dried strawberry. Mint and chocolate. Satisfying, sweet fruit in the mouth still. I picked this up for very little at auction and I'm glad I did!

    November 18, 2019 - Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.

Not as deep and flavorful as the bottle I had in 2013. Still very good with pronounced cherry flavors.
Tannins present, but not too strong.

    Time to drink up.

July 21, 2015 - no decant; 18c; clear, brilliant burnished-red; flamboyant, flirtatious nose of mint, pinks, roses (exploding with air); silky smooth, vigorous fruit, long, elegant finish; bright minerals, loads of lush red berries, mint, tobacco, caramel; gorgeous stuff; 19

May 18, 2014 - Tasted blind. Huge jammy nose if plums and blackberry, with floral notes and licorice. Modern winemaking is evident. Good balance on the palate with fine tannins and great core of fruit. I identified this as a modern 2000 Barolo. Technically this is a great wine but it lacks character.

November 2, 2013 - Excellent bottle of wine, with plenty of life left in it.
Opened and let it breathe for 90 minutes before starting, and drank over the next 2 hours or so, slowly at first because it started to open up through the bottle. No decant, did not seem to need it.

Fresh with a great, deep and rich nose. Some sharp crisp, sort of tart flavors -- not at all unpleasant, like some kind of berry/cherry. Tannins present, but not excessive. As I said, just an excellent bottle of wine

I have one more, and I will wait some time before drinking it.
