March 30, 2021 - - It's somewhat balanced with a medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish.

March 27, 2016 - Solid QPR Bordeaux. Case purchase was well worth it. 11 years old and plenty of mature Bordeaux Berry and cassis plus well integrated oak. Acid/tannin ratio perfect.
    Recommend.

November 26, 2015 - This was surprisingly fresh upon opening. Like in past years I did a cork pull for slow oxidation. It still had plenty of barnyard to blow off. Fruit has faded and secondaries still there but this should be drunk up soon. We will drink the last two bottles at Christmas as the whole extended family has followed this case for a few good years.

December 25, 2014 - Once again this served as the holiday wine for a pairing with rib roast and sides. The BIL really likes this, but it still needs to be slow ox- with cork pulled almost a day in advance. dominated by oak tertiary flavors and dark fruit, the cedar, vanilla, cocoa, with stiff tannins holding everything together with decent acids. Nice fruited finish with drying tannin. Compared with another 2005 La Tour de Mons, was described as musty, but that was a pop and pour from a magnum, which significantly improved over the next day.

I still think this wine should be held and left alone. I guess I will find out in 2016 when I think this will open up much more.

April 20, 2014 - Finally this wine is coming around. I still decanted for 6 hours, then recorked, place in the refrigerator and the left the cork out of the bottles during the next day, when I pulled them from the fridge to warm to drinking temperature. This will give you some idea of how wound up they were 2.5 year back when they were solid tannin and oak.

However today they were well integrated silky tannins, integrated oak showing as cocoa and some vanilla and a touch of cedar. The fruits of St. steppe were also on display, though secondary for sure. Briar patch fruit of boysenberry, loganberry and cassis. Really this wine had a pleasant mouthfeel, of the fruit the drying tannins with a good finish of fruit, and the integrated oak. Very glad I was patient and gave these bottles the cellar time they needed. I was thinking if they didn't show some signs of maturing, I might have got a bum case, but very happy with great qpr value. drinking 10x their purchase price.
