Community Tasting Notes 7

October 31, 2021 - Pristine bottle of this. Quite elegant red fruits, touch of earth and slice, showing true chambolle. Wouldn’t hold any longer.

July 17, 2016 - The fruit was long gone and the color was brown but it must have been nice in its day

November 7, 2015 - This bottle sang!! If you own it, it is gorgeous, right now, and amazing to taste over the course of a few hours, but this could lay down for another ten years. Easily.

October 21, 2011 - Guesses were mostly older, the fruit here could have used more freshness, though there was still acidic and tannic structure to suggest it needed more time. B/B-

December 18, 2010 - Wow, what a surprise. This must have been stored pristinely. Beautiful, aromas of crushed cherries, mushrooms, spices, and floral perfume. A beautiful silky palate with cherries, flowers, and hints of earth. The mid-palate was plenty full with great sweet fruit notes and balancing acidity. Just a lively wine and what a pleasant surprise for a 14 year old village wine.

(Mugnier J-F Chambolle-Musigny) Unfortunately, after a very good run - over 2 months - corked! Smelly cork on extraction, but the wine smelled okay on pouring - 5 minutes later - ugh. I think behind the taint there's a nice wine - sad.
