March 26, 2024 - Fantastic wine. Great concentration but not too oaky with a great nose of berries and some wood

March 26, 2024 - Beautiful Côte-Rôtie, mineral and savory on the palate with a significant length. On the nose, hints of blood, dark fruit, oriental spices, and animalistic notes of leather. A masterpiece.

Bellissimo cote rotie, mineralità e sapidità in bocca con un allungo importante. Al naso note ematiche, di frutta scura, spezie orientali, note animali di cuoio. Capolavoro.

January 17, 2024 - Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): Quite aromatic right now and still showing some juicy black fruit. I get the sense this is slightly shutting down though, so perhaps better to put these away for a few years. Modest, but not unapproachable tannins.

October 8, 2023 - Vinetasters: Young Northern Rhône (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. A bit more of a spicy note on the nose here. Very nice minerality; comes across a little St. Joseph-like (postscript -- I had thought this was a tasting of a mix of new and old world Rhone wines) but with much darker, black fruit, and overall more balance between the fruit, structure, and acidity. My 2nd, group's 8th.

April 18, 2023 - Great wine. The previous notes stand. But with an additional observation. When first pouring the wine was just out of the cooler and it had a creamy, strawberry-like note. Almost a subtle red berry sweetness to the smell, though not the taste. As the drink progresses and opens up there is a wonderful transition to herb and spice and the Syrah takes over the character. Beautiful finish. The transformation with temperature and the initial notes while cooler make it an even more interesting experience than one I remember the last time around.
