• Big Juicy Red Likes this wine:

  May 11, 2024 - Color is somewhere between pale ruby and pale garnet, with more brownish around the edge.
  Aromas of dusty earth and dark fruit.
  Taste (after being open for a couple of hours) is nicely complex with dusty earth notes, some oak, blue and black fruit, and a moderate alcohol bite. It’s obviously high, but I was surprised that it’s 15.4 — I guessed about 14.5. Not a candied fruit bomb, like so many other zins.
  Moderate plus complexity and finish.
  I’m not a big zin fan generally speaking, but this was nice, although it needed stronger food flavors than the baked potatoes with veggie chili we paired it with.
