  February 11, 2023 - Deep purple-black, with enticing notes of chocolate drops, sweet baking spice, coffee beans and a lick of vanilla. Black fruits peek from behind the oak frontage to promise more. As it opens, it reveals sweet baking spices and a dusting of cocoa powder adds depth, with black fruits at the core. It's an intriguing bouquet that promises complexity and richness.
  Full-bodied on entry, the wine’s fleshy black fruits, oak spices, mocha and confectionary notes take centre stage whilst structurally, the powdery tannins and mid-acid support. There is a gentle fiery alcohol that adds warmth, with a dusting of cocoa powder on the med finish. The wine is spicy and oak-driven and may reward more time in the bottle, although it is approachable at present. In glass, the oak drifted a little sideways.

  September 23, 2021 - Classic aromas of cassis, damson jam, toast and blackcurrants along with dried tobacco leaves and a hint of graphite.
  A sweet entry showcasing the super ripe fruits and oak spices, this is a full-bodied, powerful wine. The firm, powdery well-knit tannins provide a good backbone as does the lively acidity. At the same time, the mid-palate offers cassis, tobacco, black cherry and bitter 85% lindt chocolate alongside a sweet herbal thyme element. A long, winding finish accentuates the herbs adding black tea leaf and even a touch of blackcurrant leaves.
