  June 10, 2020 - Overall, very happy with the 82 Bordeaux blend (82% Cab, 16% Cab Franc, & 2% Merlot) tasting. Mature wine that was decanted for over 2 hours before tasting. Although past its prime, nevertheless the wine delivered flavorful dark fruits, earthy tones and a smooth long finish with soft tannins.

  July 22, 2017 - Surprisingly good: nice nose, good color, clean clear taste. Yes, subdued flavor that you had to think about, but great fun to drink. Scores around the table = 91, 93-4, 94-5, 95-6

  January 6, 2017 - 1982 OPUS ONE NAPA- 82% Cabernet, 16% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot; great wine in perfect balance with smooth silky texture and milk chocolate laden black cherry/ berry/ currant fruit and some talc and sandalwood; although it was full bodied, it had grace and elegance which is the epitome of the iron glove, velvet fist analogy; it was the complete deal from its youthful color, aroma, taste and long pleasant finish

  May 16, 2016 - Knightsbridge 30th Anniversary Party (The Bristol - Chicago IL): From magnum. Great nose combines black fruit, liqueur, earth and spice. Good flavors, albeit less exciting with some jagged structural edges, but good concentration.
