April 18, 2009 - Finally (as this is the last bottle of the case) found the perfect foil for this rambunctious, rowdy, robust, rural fruit cup: sausage and chips with lots of salt and vinegar and HP Sauce. Shouldn't work but does. Anyway the wine is much as previously described - cherry, spices and a bit rough and ready.

April 12, 2009 - Had this after a 2005 Red & Green Zinfandel. No comparison. The Bookster had this awful Acidic funk upon opening. After that subsided, there really was nothing memorable. At the same time, the Red & Green was a pleasure to drink.

April 10, 2009 - Nose: smoke, plum, black cherry, chocolate (black forest gateaux in fact), pencil shavings?
Mouth: Black cherry and chocolate, some spices - nutmeg, cloves, licorice, gentle tannins. Okay mouth feel, nothing special, and a long acrid/bitter finish.
This was sold to my wife as a close match to Ridge York Creek. It isn't. Probably wouldn't go here again.
