February 12, 2020 - Barrel Tasting at Domaine Hudelot-Noellat (Vougeot): Only 7 barrels in 2019. Pre malo barrel sample. Clearly on another level with the concentration, depth and length. An array of red and black cherry fruits with heaps of spice. Destined for greatness.

Somehow, you could already tell that this was going to be a pretty damn amazing wine, just from that crazy amount of exuberant spice on the nose and palate here. You could start to see the outlines of the red-fruited character of the house, as well as how much raw power this wine contained. Charles mentioned that the RSV seems to always show a little better than the Richebourg young; today, that definitely was the case.
