August 24, 2022 - This was decanted for the better part of the afternoon. There is a slightly riper take (showing the hallmark of the vintage), but it isn't overripe with red-fruited tones of berries, red cherries, plums, herbs, tobacco notes, violets, crushed flowers, anise, and some potpourri. The Medium bodied feel has some extra weight with crisp, medium+ acidity and silky, medium+ tannins. The finish really lasts and the wine holds the vintage extremely well. This could likely benefit from another 3+ years to let it all settle in, though this is drinking very well if air is given.

June 4, 2022 - Decanted for an hour and served with chicken parm. Didn’t take notes during dinner but the nose is particularly wonderful.

February 26, 2022 - Really like this for the money.
Dark garnet but translucent. Fruity nose with strawberry as well as usual juicy cherry, slight ester smell.
Watery soft mouthfeel. Juicy cherry, strawberry, hint of menthol/cherry cough sweet. Something a bit earthy/animal too. Good acidity, some minerality and drying tannins in the finish giving it nice structure and a few more years to develop.
