March 28, 2024 - Almost Burgundian clear/vivid garnet color with hints of brick and orange - beautiful/appetizing. The nose consists of intense raspberry and dark cherry, backed up by hints of porcini mushroom, black tea, and high pitched red perilla leaves used for Japanese pickled plum (umeboshi). In the mouth, the attack is very moist and mellow like a wet forest soil after the rain, followed by wet/moist medium tannins and very high linear acidity - overall very tart but integrated/harmonious. The finish is floral, with soothing hints of underbrush and menthol. Probably at its peak now, although it might stay well for a many many years. Wholesome and nostalgic, exactly what I expect from Chianti Classico.

February 21, 2024 - Outstanding. Brooding with lots of secondary nuances going on. Color is fading to tawney. Beautiful bouquet of rose petals, dark berries, strawberry compote and spices. Very earthy with hints of tobacco leaf and forest floor. A super wine, ageing well. Held up well for three nights.

May 25, 2023 - wonderful chianti. pop&pour. in perfect shape. cherry nose with dried herbs, strawberry, banana touch. light with a good acidity backbone. melting tannin. tomato wine par excellence.

September 10, 2022 - PnP and a mistake. This really needed time in a decanter or just hold for a few years. Dark red fruits, earth, leather, spice. A fan of Montesecondo's wines, I have three more that I will hold.

August 22, 2022 - Consistent with first bottle. Light in color and on the palate—this is definitely on the lighter and more elegant side for a Chianti Classico. Good acidity and just delicious all around
