September 10, 2015 - Citrus and spice and everything nice...

May 21, 2010 - I rediscovered this bottle when pulling a case from storage for the upcoming Oregon BYO Dinner. I had previously had a bottle about 7 years ago, and was disappointed then, as apparently Eric was from his 2003 note. We were going to Mr Chow's and I thought a Viognier would pair well as a white with their cuisine. Despite the modest CT reviews, I thought I would give it a chance(I brought a back-up, just in case).
Surprisingly this mountain fruit Viognier has significantly improved with time. Good body, tropical pineapple notes, and no sign of being over the hill or flabby. Surprisingly Ellen and Roberta the hyper critics really enjoyed it, as did David and I.

February 20, 2010 - definitely over the hill, and I suspected as much before popping the cork. Nose was ripe, with toasty oak and honey. Color was a golden hue like honey, and the freshness that Viognier should have in its youth is long gone.

July 14, 2003 - Seattle offline at Daniel's Broiler (Seattle, WA, USA): My bottle. Wildly tropical nose with apricot and pineapple. This has a lush entry, dances on the palate, and tastes flittingly of fruit cocktail. On the finish a fair bit of wood and heat shine through marring the wine somewhat.

February 9, 2003 - Seattle Tasting Group does Syrah & Shiraz (Seattle, WA, USA): My bottle. This was served a bit cool (my bad!). At first the nose was spicy with some not too subtle oak. Later in the evening this was showing more typical apricot and peach and vibrant floral notes. On the palate this was zingy and racy with acidity, some toasty oak and a nice silkiness. On the finish there is a nice, spicy element. This one had a lot of alcohol and acid which balanced well with the wood. This is my second straight CA Viognier contribution, so now I have folks thinking that’s all I cellar…
