May 5, 2019 - Stacked with loads of toasted caramel, toffee, apricots, creme brulee, and honey nut cheerios. Such an incredible experience.

July 12, 2014 - My last half bottle. Pretty much cut a cut and paste experience from a few years back. Neck fill, SOM'd.

A golden mature color. The nose was flat out beautiful. Orange rind, apricots, some toffee, honey, and creme brûlée. Great palate weight with excellent cut and acidity to keep it very light on its feet. Outstanding texture, still retaining fruit, but with the secondary complexity and depth, with a fantastic balance of fruit, acid, and sugar. At peak and beautiful, thoughI can't imagine it improving any. 95pts

September 12, 2013 - Drouhin Laroze, M. Ilan, old Sauternes & Ports (JV's): This was one amazing wine. Clearly a great bottle. Orange gold in color. Wonderful nose. Orange peels, some honey, some sea air. Complex. Great viscous texture. Slightly sweet at this point. Layered complexity on the palate too. Orange rind, oranges, dried peaches. Long finish. Really special.

May 12, 2013 - Medium weight and medium body, with good acidity and a touch drying on the finish, this wonderfully balanced wine showed flavors of dried apricot and pear waft over the palate. Lovely. At this stage, would be a good match for fish or other savory courses.

April 28, 2013 - Manresa Graduation Dinner (Manresa, Los Gatos): Orange-copper colored; slight copper minerality/chlorine, some dried apricot, caramel, hazelnut; almost dry but still some residual sweetness, great acidity, medium persistence; finish is medium length. Very nice, mature, but not that complex. This is an excellent sauternes at peak showing great maturity, but not nearly as complete as the Yquem tonight. 92.
Day 3: Held together remarkably well without much downslope since the day we opened it. Not much change, very enjoyable.
