February 20, 2023 - This is really becoming something. Still youthful (pear and lime) but adding in complexity (some nuttiness and smokiness) through bottle age. Salty too. Good acidity. The reasons why I love this variety so much. It’s nice in its youth but then it doesn’t stand out to other varieties. And in their youth, Sabino’s greco wines are much more expressive. But oh my, his fiano after 4 or 5 years…

October 28, 2022 - Beau vin, frais mais avec une belle matière, à la fois dense et déliée. On peut le boire ou attendre plus de complexité, mais il y a du fond, une persistance notable. Très chouette.

January 17, 2022 - TLDR: Salty pear. Yum!

Nose is lots of fun—Salty, buttery almost Gorgonzola nose with peppery fennel/microgreens/spicy ginger vegetal aroma; grapefruit & lime. Palate has a salty, slightly yeasty pear syrup quality before drying to a precise, tart single point. I can imagine countless other winemakers’ iterations of this wine that tried to be more “serious”, harvested later, maybe even oaked, and would just be sucky, hot, oaky wines. This is still refreshing on some level—thank god.

January 10, 2022 - Consumed over 3 nights - this was clearly at its best on Day 1. Really enjoyable Italian white great for pairing with a weeknight dinner. Good backbone of acidity, with some saline minerals and nice texture. Great value.

  • GArpaia Does not like this wine:

December 31, 2021 - Med lemon. Med+ intensity. High acidity.
Bruised apple, lemon, oxidative, nutty. Kind of natural, Loire Chenin’s style. Very little Fiano character here, disappointing.

    Montefredane, Contrada Vadiaperti.
    Enologo: Carmine Valentino
