November 10, 2014 - tired and over the hill. Muddled fruit with string acidity kept it in the acceptable category rather than drain cleaner. Some mineral but the oak had the taste of old vanilla creme brûlée. This should have been drunk a year or two ago when it was very good.

May 9, 2013 - Pleasant wine, golden hued with a clear ring around the base. Sticky pitted fruit and white florals on the nose, with a bit of light oak. Wet slate minerals also pleasant on the nose. Lower in acids than some newer vintages, but it does still make my mouth water. There is a pleasant mouth feel, with the orchard fruits joined with some nuttiness and wood. More like a West Coast wine than and aged bourgogne blanc. I wouldn't think this refreshing as some whites, but enticing nevertheless. Decent fruit on the finish with that touch of acid keeping my mouth wanting something wet to refresh it.

December 17, 2012 - Fuller fruit than most Burgundies with less acidity and minerality. The fullness and roundness borders on Californian style (without the oak/malo).

I thought it was good, but not a blowout (90-91).

CW liked it much better than the recent lineup and thought this was the best (92+)

(Vougeraie Vougeot Clos de la Prieuré Blanc) The nose is much more understated than the 2005 - less obviously ‘ripe’ too. There’s the same opulent and quite rich palate - almost oily - the flavours really cling to your palate. This is surprisingly long. The plump family resemblance is in place, but this is quite well balanced for a 2003. Quite good in the context of the vintage
