April 23, 2023 - Delicious, refreshing wine to drink and savor. Always a treat to drink wines like this going in the opposite direction of what is done to attempt improve wine in the pursuit of higher points and actually becoming less drinkable.

October 17, 2022 - Oh wow. Bottle 5 of 6, but haven't had one in over a year. The previous bottles seemed a little tart/thin, but this one was anything but. No decant. Bright, lively, amazing. Should have waited on the previous 4!!!! Don't agree with the drink by 2022 date. This will hold if not improve for another couple of years.

September 8, 2021 - Especial old friends, that is D&R, and today, on the day they are moving on to other pastures/vineyards, I couldn't think of a better wine to sit down with for a bit. (Btw, GIVE THIS AIR! It loves to breathe and will reward it)

August 28, 2021 - Very strongly reductive on opening, the rubber tire aromas blew off completely after splashing the wine back and forth a bunch of times between 2 decanters. Then, it was all sweet-tart raspberries. Sad this was my last bottle of the 2019. Reminded me of a memorable bottle of unsulfured Lapierre Morgon Jill and I had at lunch at Le Comptoir in Paris 16 years ago.

May 30, 2020 - Drinking this during the D&R zoom—so much fun. Very fruity and the carbonic maceration is eveident, it is very Beaujolais -like. This is nice for a change but really hope they go back to making the Mourvèdre almost rose version of this again next year. This year is Barbera and Zin (edit: and Petite Sirah) and it isn’t really comparable to past years Especial.
