May 4, 2024 - Richness from warm vintage but great acidity. You get the stone fruits and a nice bitter finish on the lemo skin. A powerful wine but noble. Better to enjoy it not too cold and it paired very well with the goat cheese, abricot, and almond Flammekueche. This is a textbook Savennières which is worth so much the price. To buy again.

June 5, 2022 - Well-balanced chenin, with ripe apples, pineapple, and some spices. Very pleasant. Looking forward to evolution with my other bottle in about 8-10 years.

May 23, 2021 - If, like me, you are unused to drinking Chenin Blanc, this wine may take you by surprise. It has the wonderful acidity which all the books tell you Chenin should possess, but is so very rich and redolent of nuts (some say almonds; I say hazelnuts) it is almost too much to take in. It is 14.5% but the booze does not overwhelm the ripe peach and melon-like fruit. The problem with a wine like this is what kind of food would best accompany it. We tried it with slamon and cold chicken and various salads, but it was not a great success. Then, on an inspired notion, we took out some double cream Brie...and the combination was a match made heaven, Who'd have thunk it? A rare and expensive wine, but well worth trying once in a blissful while.
