    February 25, 2014 - A pleasant fruit-forward quaff but nothing special.

November 7, 2012 - Light oak, tart cherry, and some herbal notes combine for a really excellent Rioja. Improved with a little time after opening. Excellent.

June 11, 2010 - Spain scores again with the QPR. Excellent wine for the $14 price point. Expressive nose of sour cherries, dried cranberries and raspberries, dried herbs, stewed meat and asian spices. Attacks the palate with a medium-light body but full flavors or more dried red fruit and figs, game, and cranberry sauce. Grenache makes its presence known with a spicy mid-palate and a high octane finish. Great complexity for a wine well under $20, outstanding value. Fell a little flat on the finish with lower than average tannins, moderate acidity and high alcohol. Other than the disjointed finish, I love this wine. It's a must for anyone looking for quality on a budget.

July 12, 2009 - Garnet, not quite opaque. Oak, black cherries. A little licorice on the nose. Juicy and pleasant. With a satisfying finish. Easy to pour another glass and go back for more.

June 2, 2009 - I'm not that experienced with Rioja, but this one seemed quite pleasant a great addition to the Spanish tasting meal at Mezze Restaurant in Oakland. Cherries, wood smoke, fresh turned earth, some crushed sage leaf... not a big wine or especially complex but certainly worth the $30 off a restaurant wine list.
