Red berries and lavender with just enough earth and spice. Give at least 90 minutes to open up, peak at four hours.

    Great wine.

January 4, 2022 - (Imported by Alain Junguenet). This is a special cuvee of 98% old-vines Grenache. From a warm, but very good vintage in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

    Color: Med-dark ruby. Classic.

Nose: God, this wine has a beautiful, classic CDP nose! Beautiful, complex, expressive grenache-driven nose of griotte cherry liqueur, black raspberry, smoke, and CDP (garrigue) spices. Very pure.

Palate: Full body (alc) yet light in its feet. Lovely, piercing, saturated flavors of sweet black cherry, black raspberry, wild herbs/garrigue, and classic finish of black pepper. Perfect balance. Ripe silky tannins. Good acidity. Outstanding.

Label says 15.5% alc, but I taste no heat (and I'm sensitive to it). Interesting.

    Delicious CDP!

93-94. This Châteauneuf drinks great now (2022). Will develop positively through 2028 and hold until 2030+ (in a cool proper cellar). Yes.

September 2, 2021 - Bosquet des Papes Zoom Tasting. Tasted in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour with thin garnet rim. Legs.
Nose is clean, meidum+ intensity, with aromas of earth + minerality, dark spices, deep dark red cherries, acerated ripe strawberries, redcurrant, glossy dark plums. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol, high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of redcurrant, smooth ripe macerated strawberries, deep red cherries, sweet licorice, concentrated thick sweet herbs. Very long finish.
Very good quality. One for the ages, but actually really not a sin to drink now and enjoy too. Upside potential.
Majority old vine Grenache with some Cinsault and Clariette.

October 12, 2020 - Oh yes was the first words that came to mind once this spicy wine hit my palate. With good concentration of flavor, you find opulent, silky red fruits and spice that perfectly combines sweetness and purity on the palate. This is one of the more successful wines of the vintage. The wine was produced blending 98% old vine Grenache, with 1% Cinsault and 1% Clariette.
