July 24, 2023 - First night, all ripeness and plummy fruit. Second night, it's leaner, the structure comes out and it's really really nice, definitely cab franc and one I really like. Will buy again for sure, haven't had a bad wine or even a mediocre one from Martin Woods yet!

March 10, 2022 - chocolate. dried coniferous forest floor. dirt. smooth. semi-dried fruit. chocolate covered raisins. low tannin, not jammy. toasted almond, mildly sweet aroma yet dry on the palate. Vanilla, modeling clay, smooth & spicy.

March 10, 2022 - Superb Cab Franc, this is just nailing it, and it is the last glass from a bottle open a couple days. Gorgeous blue flowers, myriad peppery tones, subtle roasted veggie and meat notes, a little cigar and black olive too, but the most intense aspect of the nose is ripe black fruits, there are high notes of red and yellow, but this is built around a thrumming dark core. Medium-bodied but dense and seamless, satin tannins are bold but layered and elegant, fruit is crunchy and bursting, this comes at you swaggering, then it dances around nicely. Long finish, saturated in dark fruit, firmly tannic, fresh and tart, lots of mineral, herbal, floral intrigue. Fantastic Cab Franc, and worth following 5+ easily.

February 10, 2022 - Decanted. Now 2h after decant. Translucent garnet color. Very shy aromas and not giving much. Palate w tart cherry and cranberries, some green pepper, Sichuan peppercorns, white pepper, olives, and a bit of roasted meats. Medium bodied w nice acid backbone. Mild tannins on midpalate. Finished w fruit, nice green peppers w good length.

May 21, 2021 - This was cool. Looked and drank like a Pinot but still had varietal correctness. Interesting and good.
