March 28, 2012 - This is a very solid wine. I tasted this after it was open for a while and at about room temp.
In Appearance, the wine was a clear, medium, dark ruby that faded to pink at the rim. The legs were thin, but long.
The Nose was clean and developing with medium- aroma intensity. You really have to linger to get the scent here. Some red fruit there with a touch of spice and smoke.
The Palate was dry and medium in body and alcohol level, but it was nicely balanced with surprisingly firm acidity that was at least medium+. The tannins here were very soft though. This is a lush wine that is rounded, rather than angular. The flavors are of red and dark fruit, including raspberry and cherry with an herbal note of eucalyptus and some sweet spice notes with cigar box.
Overall, this isn't going to blow you away, but it is a solid wine with a good QPR. Drink now though.

February 15, 2011 - '06 was not the year '05 was for Bordeaux, but it was still pretty good. This is a pretty generic Bordeaux from a good producer though. It should be fairly typical, but it is an excellent value wine. It is drinking now, but you could also sit on it for a bit too.
