September 25, 2022 - Quite deep gold. More open than a Trimbach. Off dry; lychee, spice but not 'blowsy' in any sense, retains its shape.
A great food wine with a Chicken Parsi, quite hot, then a pork stir fry with ginger, chilli and garlic two nights later.

September 13, 2022 - Retail $25. Despite the fact that I consider myself a child of Alsace (I studied there in college), I do not drink a ton of Gewurz. When I go Alsace, I tend to reach for Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot blanc, or even, increasingly, Pinot Noir before I reach for a "spicy Trainer." Fairly golden in the glass with loads of the characteristic lychee and spice on the nose. Much of the same on the palate with the addition of more than a bit of sweetness, and I would consider this a bit more than "off-dry." Again, I do not try a ton of this variety, but the sole fact that this takes me back to my days in Strasbourg more than warms the heart. Very Good.

February 13, 2022 - I loved the 2016 but i worry there was little care in making this. Unidentifiable as Gewurztraminer and just a round semi sweet blob that does not change form opening to finishing or initial taste to last. No definition, little acidity and rather depressing. It might improve but i doubt it. I have been a lover of schlumberger wines for years but the new bland and dull label is matched by a couple of their more recent wines.

November 5, 2021 - Excellent, if you like that sort of thing, which I do in buckets. I’ll leave it to people more qualified than I to talk about lychees etc.

October 26, 2021 - Cards on the table but this is not a variety I have much time for.

This had classic aromatic flavours of lychee and ginger spice, with notes of honey. Full rich and medium sweet but lacking the acidity to give it a real lift. Nonetheless, good typicity. CHP 86 pts
