  October 2, 2022 - Decanted into a chilling decanter based on my prior experience in the summer of 2021. Like the style; love the complexity, the balance, the richness and intensity, fruits and minerality, and the long finish. In development. Still a bit of residual oak lingering in the background, but food (hard cheeses, salami, and Triscuits) seem to mitigate. Acid provides balance to the ripe citrus, and orchard fruits while supporting a very long finish. Drink through 2025+.

  November 9, 2021 - Probably the most detailed technical note I have seen, including welcome information on block and clone in addition to the eponymous barrel selection
  
  Drunk over three days A relatively high proportion of new oak and a year on lees accounts for the rich (for NZ) texture. Stylistically this shouts that it does not want to be considered alongside Marlborough, more of Bordeaux and Loire in a ripe year.
  
  Chalky lemon rather than the expected gooseberry on nose and palate. Long acidity. Surprisingly fresh with lemon grass on finish
