November 11, 2022 - Seavey Dinner (bellwether): Very pretty, lightly floral, darker fruits, good acid. It's out of a 750 and next to the 2004 out of the magnum and so I can't tell if the difference in quality was the difference in bottle size or difference in vintage. This too though was quite tasty and drank well.

October 16, 2022 - Dinner with Jan at Char. First of three, and this bottle was stupendous! Gorgeous nose, velvety palate. Loads of fruit, but balanced deftly by cedar and herbal notes, with just enough acidity to keep it taut. This is rich and expressive without being over the top, powerful yet still elegant. Paired beautifully with a couple of steaks that we shared. Drinking well now, but should have a nice plateau over the next several years. Just tremendous stuff by Seavey.

November 20, 2021 - Two hour decant. Served with a rotisserie, applewood smoked/grilled chicken. This wine at a great peak. Dark fruit, candied cherries, chocolate, cedar, fall loam with nice tannins merge seamlessly in a long taste profile.

November 14, 2021 - Settled in beautifully. Soft and Bordeaux-like now, but just enough “stuff” to remind you it’s from (one of the best parts of) Napa.

March 22, 2021 - Outstanding. 1 hr in the decanter. Dark fruit and fully integrated tannins. At its peak and drinking very well now.
