June 19, 2022 - Initial scent of either peach or melon, or perhaps cantaloupe? It was a combo of at least two. First taste showed tangy acidity and bitter/sour, like grapefruit. Flavor profile semed more towards the citrus end rather than stone fruit, even though the bouquet was mellon-like. Feeling the energy middle of tongue. First 15 minutes and its muted and all acid. And I served this in a wine glass I use for reds. Accompanied by cheeses, sausages both smoked and dried, so I'm getting different after tastes depending on snack. I did like it, but I'm beginning to wonder if having it in a narrow flute would have been a better way to enjoy. I've seen a few CT reviews of other champagnes that advise a wider glass but very well may be specific to those wines reviewers had, not this one.

November 6, 2021 - As accessible and user-friendly as the 2014, this vintage of Mottelettes is nearly an identical twin, with ripe and juicy yellow citrus, almond slivers, chalk, and yellow pear skin. Round and full mid-palate, with the requisite energy and effervescence to see it all through to the rolling finale. Less of a shrill or exceptionally nervy sort and instead more luscious - but the acidity, drive, and tension are all properly in play. Drink now and over the coming few years. A super solid Champagne and a decent QPR to boot at $65-70.

Paired perfectly with a poached egg and Parmesan lacinato (dino) kale salad.

    2015 vintage. 100% Chardonnay BdB. Disgorged 12/2019. 1.8g/L dosage. 12.5% ABV.
