February 9, 2020 - Coravin over 3 days. Medium sediment. Initial nose of sulfur and wood and tar (and an initial hint of barnyard which dissipated quickly). Matchsticks and dried cherries and...empty metal cans(?). Medium finish. Drink (or hold a bit longer).

July 20, 2013 - Opened 90 minutes before first poor. It is dark burgundy in color, herbal quality on the nose, reminiscent of fresh rosemary. I can't help but think this would pair amazingly with lamb. It does seem more of a food-friendly wine. Medium bodied. Not getting as much alcohol as the previous reviewers did, but it is slightly acidic. A bit of leather on the finish. It is good but not great. It is clearly inside its drinking window but there isn't much fruit left here. There is still enough tannin to see this out for a couple more years though if herbal/earthy pinots are your style.

November 29, 2008 - 2005 Lachini Cuvée Giselle Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, alc 14.4%, $50: A very big style of pinot noir..unusual torrefaction/blood (and alcohol) on the nose that blows off after a few minutes in the glass..very ripe fruit (Syrah-esque) and an aggressive palate attack...alcohol seems higher than reported...altogether an unusual wine... clearly a ripe New World style but not my "cup of tea".. should this be tested for steroids??
