February 25, 2024 - Riesling bash at CHIKO (Chevy Chase, Maryland): Beautiful focus, plush fruit, nice balance between crushed sweet tart sugar and racy acid. Nice tangy, pithy, mineral vibes as well. Too young to really parse through in full in such a spread, but I'd love to spend time with this in five years.

The 2019 needs some air (starting to close down?), but after it’s open for an hour it is firing on all cylinders. Vivid acidity, fresh peach and cherry fruit (typical Kirschheck), and a sparkling finish that first highlights the Spätlese sweetness then the acidity washes it away. Brilliant!
