Community Tasting Notes 7

November 30, 2023 - This bottle has less pyrazine and more cassis than my last note. Lands somewhere between Napa and Bordeaux with more structure and earth than Napa while having more fruit than Bordeaux. A good bottle.

February 1, 2023 - Tasted at Three Borders Wine Group, Hampshire, UK. Dark red berry colour. Spicy, smooth. Good.

  • Byrdcellars Likes this wine: 87 points

December 16, 2022 - Needed to decant for 30+ mins but very good after some air. Red fruit, oak. Very good for the price point!

October 24, 2022 - Lots of Chilean Cabernet typicity with its plum, cassis, and pyrazines. Tannins are moderate and smooth while acidity keeps things fresh.

There’s none of the coarse rusticity that I commonly associate with Cabernets at this price point.

February 9, 2022 - A grocery store value at $13. Medium bodied, dark fruit, some oily stem bitterness upon opening. A half hour after opening this bitterness began to dissolve and the wine expands nicely into multiple fruit and spice complexity and even a hint of minerality. It benefits from a food pairing of course; went well with spaghetti bolognese.
