January 24, 2016 - Very surprising. We know this wine was not kept with any diligence or care but is has survived reasonably unscathed. A typical California Cabernet Sauvignon from a decade ago. The acidity remains strong and the tannins are present but the fruit has also remained. Aeration is a necessary and likely it is or nears the end of a useful life but given its history I am pleasantly surprised by this bottle.

August 28, 2008 - Full bodied, dark red, and delicious. Starting to get that aged velvety taste. Deep berry and cherry flavors.

November 5, 2006 - My first Mendocino. Dark red color in light. Almost black out of the light. Spicy and complex. I like this wine. Fruity. Tastes almost like a Zinfandel. Consumed with Petit Aguour sheep's milk cheese and "drunken goat" goat's milk Spanish cheese. At first a wee bit too heavy to be compatible with the former cheese, but very compatible with the goat's cheese. I bought the half bottle. Still good in 2006.

December 12, 2005 - Very tasty. Nice fruit, very approachable, not too tannic. Good everyday drinking wine.
