February 6, 2024 - In a great place. Leather and red fruit on the nose. Very high acid (almost a trademark for this wine.) Rich red cherries, strawberries, sage, some earthy grittiness. Very long finish.

September 20, 2023 - 45 minute decant. Nose of red fruit, cotton candy, vanilla bean, lavender, and oak. Palate delivers layers of black cherry, black plum, watermelon, black peppercorn, dried rosemary and dusty earth with plenty of acidity. Thick, wide tannins with an iron note, dark fleshy fruit, and milk chocolate. Wine color darkened as it sat in the glass.

August 18, 2023 - Surprisingly quite rustic and burly - not what I think of with Evangelho. Sultry black fruit, mineral and dried flowers, set in a frame of juicy acid and with a hint of mourvedre funk. Feels like it still needs more time. I think the conventional wisdom of this being an early drinker is wrong.
