Community Tasting Notes 7

August 22, 2012 - Medium red color with moderate transparency. Floral, cherry, horse, and leather on the nose hint at some brett. On the palate, this wine does have brett. showing in the horse end of the spectrum. Underneath that, there is some pretty floral cherry fruit and some medium tannins still hanging around. If you tolerate/like bretty pinot, this is pretty good. Drinking well enough now. Another year or two will likely see the tannins better integrate. Not a repurchase due to the brett. but would look at other vintages if offered.

September 7, 2009 - Lots of poop on the nose but the pallet is fresh with floral and red fruit components. Nice, fresh acidity and some decent structure. This wine is beginning to come into its own. Nice!

April 8, 2009 - sfwine: Red Burgundy educational tasting (San Francisco): Stinky, reduced nose. lavors of strawberry, black cherry, brown spice, a bit reduced, with medium concentration. On the simple side, but a bit of wood gives some weight here and my impression was positive, with fresh medium plus acidity and medium minus tannin. Good. 13% alc.

December 23, 2007 - Drank next to the 05 Faiveley Bourgogne. Right now this wines is showing some reduction. The aromatics seem reductive and toasty and not very interesting. The palate was a little funky on the first night. Didn't bother me but the wine just seemed clunky. On the second night it was a little more seamless. Darker and toastier fruits compared to the Faiveley. Again a nice wine for $22, but it needs some time. This could be a surprise in a few years.

November 30, 2007 - A good everyday Bourgogne. Kind of light.
