February 3, 2024 - terrific oxidative wine; nice mouthful of lemon, salt, and nuts. great balance, and acidity. Coravined (with difficulty!), and drank over 3 weeks.
On a different note, this was my first Vin Jaune; I loved it. But as a (sometimes) sherry drinker, I can see how the price point difference with other oxidative drinks can be a bit jarring to those coming to this from sherry. But the scarcity, cost for aging, and consumer demands are very different between much smaller Jura, and Cadiz/Jerez sherry triangle. if anything, most people lament that great sherry should cost more!1 person found this helpful Comment -

August 13, 2023 - PnP. Brass w/ clear edge in color. Nose of apricots, ox and tin. On the palate: apricots, citric acid and tinny salinity. Would have a tough time distinguishing for sherry that costs 1/3 the price. I am a Vin Jaune neophyte, so factor that in when interpreting this review, but I found it hard to pick out anything exceptional about this wine.

May 8, 2023 - Very fragrant nose with complex flavors of almonds, lemon, marzipan, and cheese. The fruit is very ripe, but balanced. Lots of acidity on the palate with good structure, more almond notes, hazelnuts, meyer lemon, orange zest, and minerals. Long finish. Amazing wine that is young but approachable. There is so much going on! Will be even better in 10+ years. 95-96+

January 27, 2023 - If you like oxidative styles of wine, or sherry, this vin jaune is spectacular. The nose alone is worth the admission price - redolent of quince paste and nuts. Palate doesn't disappoint - profound mouthfeel of nuts, quince paste, and pink salt. There is great tension in this wine. I would give it at least 5+ years to further resolve and for its components to marry. This will benefit from additional cellaring.
