  August 15, 2009 - 70 cab sauv, 17 merlot, 13 cab franc. Open for about an hour, not decanted. Light purple color, doesn't look like a typical wash. bordeaux blend, looks more like a Califnornia Pinot Noir. Still quite cloudy, medium body. Lots of heat on the nose with some cherry, bit of tobacco. On the palate, the wine is more integrated, with the cab franc component and its tobacco notes really shing through with the tart dark cherry, leather. Beautiful finish. This is so totally different from four years ago, it drinks great today, but I'd sit on it for another year to let it further develop.

  September 15, 2008 - Exuberant nose of cherries and plum, with a tea note on the finish. The wine is a touch hot, though, and could also stand to benefit from another couple years in the cellar. 89+

  June 4, 2008 - Nice nose, bit of green pepper, didn't have time to decant but tanins were melowed, finish opened up with time over dinner.

  July 5, 2006 - Decanted one hour. Peppery and berries with a 30ish-second finish. A solid wine.
