November 26, 2023 - Best nose of the night, floral, red fruits, ripe cherries, lavender, beautiful mouthfeel, mini Syrah vs Shiraz day, interesting comparison with the 17 JL Jamet Ençlave, both v different both excellent

June 2, 2023 - Reynard Dinner (Ada St.): Served blind and distinctly Northern Rhone and traditionally produced, though I did not pick up any / much whole cluster. Outside of that, all the Graillot notes you'd expect from a young, ripe vintage. Plenty of black fruit and meatiness. Fun now better in 5+ years as it sheds fruit and gains nuance.

June 2, 2023 - [Restaurant purchase] No detailed notes. Great syrah, typical Northern Rhone, punching above its modest appellation. Smokey, black fruit, bacon. Medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins, long finish

June 2, 2023 - Allemand Reynard survey (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. No oak, so that narrows down the field quite a bit. Not distinctly stemmy either, but with a lovely perfumed quality. Obviously this was from a producer worth a damn, but I thought this was a Levet Côte-Rôtie for the dark fruit and spice character (perhaps a 2017 because it was slightly lighter?). Certainly this had a lot of weight and I think the combination of the vintage with Crozes gave you a wine that drank like a cooler year in a more heralded appellation. The fruit seemed to mask a lot of the whole cluster character as well, so I didn't pick that up.
