November 18, 2023 - Interestingly this bottle was completely different to the last bottle I had a few months ago. Unfortunately it wasn’t showing as good. The bottle I had last year was one of the best Rieslings I ever had, this bottle was very good, but far from exciting. It was surprisingly far developed and the petrol character was quite intense. Acidity wasn’t as precise as last time. Fruit structure was complex and beautiful though. An elegant Riesling. I heard that some followers and wine friends experienced the same bottle variations with this vintage, maybe there were some problems with the bottling. Nevertheless an amazing Riesling and worth a try.
I’m looking forward to try my other bottles. (IG)

November 25, 2021 - Medium golden colored. Beautiful nose with yellow flowers, citrus, white peach and soft honeydew melon. On the palate a nice balance between fresh yellow fruits and soft mineral notes. Medium bodied with a fresh but elegant medium (+) intense acidity. Great depth and structure. Amazing complexity and an extraordinary overall balance. This Riesling is powerful and elegant at the same time. Although it’s very complex it doesn’t feel too complicated. The finish is very long and makes you want to drink more and more - simply perfect.
On the secondary market this wine becomes always really expensive and at least doubles its price so make sure to grab some bottles when it’s released. By the way, since the 1980 vintage, each vintage shows a different artist on its label. The 2019 label was created by young German artist Gerrit Frohne-Brinkmann.
This is one of the best young Riesling I ever had, it is so well balanced and absolutely delicious in the moment. It will for sure evolve beautifully with more age, but why wait, when it’s so good right now? Drink from now until 2035. (IG)

    February 27, 2021 - not blind
One of the best young Rieslings I had so far. Not sweet, not acidity dominated, pure fruit, balanced, powerful and and elegant like wise. We had it together with Schloßberg 18 und Nonnenberg 2019. For me by far the most brialliant one. Great to drink in this early stage. 97-98+
