May 3, 2024 - Slight funk wore off after 45 mins and this wine was beautiful. At 2 hours it was really humming.

March 26, 2024 - Decanted for oen hour before service. Compared to our last tasting 12 years ago, surprisingly similar in appearance, aromatics and taste. Dark purplish/maroon with the faintest hint of orange at the rim.
Currants and graphite on the nose, with currants, cedar, forest floor, and a touch of mint on the palate. The aged notes are beginning to move towards center stage, but enough fruit and tannins are present to suggest that there are still many years ahead for this elegant wine.

August 11, 2023 - Don't know how much more i can add to previous notes on this '05 vintage, so far this has been my favorite of the Maiden's.

Showing slight signs of some of that bottle age, and coloration showing some slight bricking, not quite the deep purple and more of that medium red, but this bottle is just fabulous... so glad there are a few more to enjoy.

No rush to drink, think these probably have at least another 5 before starting to be on that slow downward trek, but pop one if you got em... they are definitely a treat!!

May 20, 2023 - Incredibly smooth, mild tannins. Ripe re and black berries fruit, mild earthiness, even dark chocolate, fully integrated. Very refined and balanced. Seamless with A5 wagyu from Nagano and bone marrow shiitake rice.if you find this, get it.

May 16, 2023 - Very deep cherry red hue
Cherry-berry tastes, a tad tart upfront
    Long finish
    Seems like drinking time!
