Community Tasting Notes 4

April 18, 2013 - Good deep color and a nose that speaks Merlot with notes of berries and earth, with a palate of smooth fruits and some chunky chocolate notes followed by a smooth finish with not a lot of tannins left. A nice Pomerol that has matured gracefully and is now ready to consume. Should hold for 3-5 years and may develop a bit more complexity on the nose.

January 10, 2013 - Probably only a couple years left of life but very enjoyable Pomerol I picked up for $19.99 on sale. Smooth.

December 17, 2010 - Upon opening the aromas are very intense, and there is no need to decant. Bright blue fruits on the palate with noticeable grippy tannins. No signs of secondary characteristics. The finish is a bit short, but I love how this is drinking today. Very fresh.

June 3, 2008 - Dark purple color. The nose had a lot of fruit, including blueberries, blackberries and black currants, plus vanilla and sage. However, the fruit disappeared on the palate, which was overwhelming with vanilla and creme broulet. Oak quite simply took over and blew the fruit away.
