July 8, 2022 - My previous bottle had a shocking rubber bouquet upon opening that didn't blow off after a long decant and breathe. This bottle is fine. Strawberry and red cherry compote carries thru to a full some possibly overripe palate but I love the full on fruit with acid follow through good length. Great food wine.

August 8, 2021 - This wine has settled down a bit since release and from enjoying previous vintages I believe this will be even better in a couple of years time. It looks very clean, ruby coloured with an inviting aroma of dark fruits and some vanilla, herbs and spice. The pure colour indicates mostly stainless steel processing and there appears to be no browning or premox.

On the palate there is delicious fresh fruit made up of a melee of cherry, plum and raspberry just the way I like it. Its quite a ripe fruit flavour however there seems to be a core of tannin and earthy herbs which is very slightly bitter until you get used to it and the wine gets some air. This is the aspect I think will improve with a couple more years and together with mellowing fruit will provide good drinking. At the moment it is slightly distracting but I must say this is a good food wine with good cleansing acidity too. It certainly benefits from breathing a good couple of hours.

Previous vintages have improved significantly in the cellar where this will stay for a couple of years to settle down a bit.
