April 11, 2021 - Essentially unchanged from my tasting note of last year. I probably need to provide one every 5 years to document the change in this wine!

July 25, 2020 - Day 2 sampling. Cork. Dark centre, beginnings of bricking at the edge. Hints of damson plum, cigar and blackberry pastille on the nose. Smooth, full bodied, fruit rich and concentrated, almost essence like with the blackberry extended on the long finish. Not even a hint of it falling over.
Probably more suited to a rustic meat dish than a Wagyu cut as it comes at you straight rather than complex or nuanced. Has a yum factor to it. Hats off to David Morris for this one.

February 19, 2010 - Powerful full throttle luscious fruity nose and taste, glorious deep rich colour, fabulous match for our lunch of venison casseroled in red wine (cab merlot) and chocolate sauce. In fact if I was scoring the combination of the durif and food, rather than just the wine itself, I'd have to give it 95+. Somewhat unbelievably, the casserole almost overpowered the durif, wrestling for the attention of my tastebuds throughout the meal, with the wine and bambi both doing themselves proud. Must get another bottle and try with roast beef, plus a few more for the cellar, as this drop has many years of improvement ahead of it.
